Michael McDermott is one of the most intense performers we have seen. This was his third time at Seven Steps Up, second time as a headliner, and he performed with his beautiful wife, Heather Horton. Together they created a magical evening. We love these two!
There are no words for tonight’s performance. Jillian opened the show and she was fantastic. Andrew Combs was amazing. And Matthew Perryman Jones was everything we hoped for and more. We must find a thesaurus and find some new words to describe these astounding concerts.
We have heard Amy Speace a number of times here and she has always been high on our list of singer/songwriters. But, tonight something magical happened. I’m not even sure I can explain what happened. She went somewhere and performed one of the best concerts we have ever seen. It was pure perfection. Laura Curtis opened and she was a big treat. It was as we said – pure magic.
We are so thrilled that Howie Day will come play our venue. I mean – the first time he was here we were totally blown away. This time it was even better. No words. Well, except one word. Epic.
Brendan James is amazing. We’ve seen him a number of times but we must say our favorite place by far to see him is here. Brendan is a joy to listen to. He has a spirit that is undeniable and a voice that is astounding and a band that is so tight they breathe together. Awesome. Astounding. Out of words to describe his performance.
When we had Shawn here for a Pin Drop Concert we made a pact to ourselves to bring him back for more. At that time we had no idea that we would get him back with a full band! He played for our first official Courtyard Concert in the parking lot outside the venue in what will be a concert that people will talk about for years to come. Seven Steps Up was a sponsor of the concert and we raised over $4000. Courtyard Concerts tagline is Do good. Have fun. Concerts for the community. We will work along side this organization and hope to change the world one concert at a time!
Kim has been here before and we hope she is here again. A favorite for the venue owners and a voice like an angel. She is truly a singer/songwriter goddess.
We first met Ryan when he performed here with Seth Glier. And then we kept up with him. We saw him with Stephen Kellogg, and we saw him with other artists. His new project, his own band, was in the vicinity and jumped at the chance to get him here. Great lyrics, great harmonies, great musicianship. The guys did something really cool – they sat on the edge of the stage and performed acoustic. It was special. Really special!
#stfyeah Crystal Bowersox sold out show #2. There is nothing quite like Crystal. Tonight’s concert was astounding. And she sang “Mercedes Bens” with Michelle. It’s the kind of nights that legends are born.
Seriously. Crystal Bowersox. Sold out show #1. We had heard her music, but we had never seen American Idol. We had heard from Seth Glier that she was “the real deal.” Nothing prepared us for her live performance. She played as a duo here and she sang with an intensity that was pure perfection. She was astounding. And there’s another one tomorrow night!
